Before I get into this email, I wanted to firstly thank you for your continued service to Canada. I imagine working in politics is very difficult these days, and no matter what party you represent, our nation owes a great thanks to all those who have dedicated their lives to try making Canada a better place.
 I am emailing you with regards to the Trans Mountain Pipeline expansion.
 As I am sure you are aware, the project is nearing completion.
 If you were among those elected officials who spoke in favour of the project in the past, I would like to thank you. Regardless of what you may or may not have done, I would like to encourage you to please do whatever you can to help promote the successful completion of this critically important economic infrastructure now that it is approaching it’s final stages.
 Canada - and the world - need this project.
 The world is in dire need of additional energy and Canada has been blessed with an opportunity to help the world meet their energy needs.
 Thankfully, Canada’s energy producers are also among the worlds most environmentally responsible when it comes to protecting the planet. While climate change is certainly top of mind for a lot of Canadians these days, I believe we can rest assured that Canada’s oil and gas industry remains the best option, so long as the world continues to need oil.
 Furthermore, it should also be noted that the project has received supportive endorsements from a large number of Indigenous community leaders. I know the federal government is doing everything in their power to work with Indigenous partners, and TMX has proven to be a great opportunity to that end.
 TMX is a win-win for everyone involved, and I think it is absolutely great the federal government is helping make it a reality.

Summary

Just recently, a group of Indigenous community leaders who support LNG development penned an open letter to the BC government, asking them to support Indigenous economic development through Canada’s low-emission natural gas export industry. Supporting Indigenous-led development of liquified natural gas is a win for Canada and a win for the planet. Natural gas is a critical part of lowering global emissions and is a solution for a better future at home. When natural gas is used to power and heat our homes, businesses and communities - it emits far fewer greenhouse gases than other energy sources. That’s why the European Union formally endorsed LNG as a green energy source. As the world continues to look for access to responsibly produced energy, Canada’s Indigenous communities should be given the opportunity to participate in the green jobs that natural gas can and will create. As long as the world needs natural gas, it should be coming from Canadians. Our Indigenous communities should be included in that opportunity.
