Please, vote NO on SB1443 when it comes to the Senate floor.
All these opt-ins are busywork for students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
This bill micromanages viewpoints at school and creates fear about having real discussion of issues. It is also has the effect of curtailing participation in school clubs. School clubs help keep students interested in school and help retention.
There is no evidence that the curriculum, surveys, or clubs themselves are a problem.
Please, get the Legislature focused on supporting education in the ways that teachers are requesting instead of trying to control every moment of the school day.
