<p>Please, vote NO on HB727 on April 19 when it is on the House floor. </p> <p>Requiring so many opt-ins is a burden for students, parents, teachers, and administrators.</p> <p>This is a form of micromanaging that will interrupt the vital work of education and real discussion in schools. It also has the effect of curtailing participation in school clubs. School clubs help keep students interested in school and help retention so they should get to choose them.</p> <p>There is no evidence that the curriculum, surveys, or clubs themselves are a problem.</p> <p>My hope for this legislative session was that the General Assembly would support education in the ways that teachers are requesting instead of trying to control every moment of the school day.</p> <p>Thank you for considering my views.</p>
