Please, speak against SB1085 when it comes to the Senate floor this week and then vote NO if it comes to a vote.
The Attorney General's opinion rightly notes the bill is broadly written. The opinion also indicates a conflict with existing law. That conflict will produce judicial confusion and that may result in discrimination.
At the national level, this bill is viewed as discriminatory and that means that our state will face economic boycotts and that it will hurt the effort to bring jobs to Tennessee. We do not want to become the next North Carolina.
