<p>I am writing to ask you to support HB324, the bill to create Voter-Owned Elections. </p> <p>Money in politics is the issue behind most of the other issues voters care about, no matter what party you vote for. </p> <p>The problem has two parts. HB324 would fix both. As you know I'm sure, campaigns are becoming more and more expensive, forcing you as elected officials to seek out wealthier donors. HB324 would create a Voter Dollars program to allow you to fundraise directly from your constituents, whose needs you are elected to serve.</p> <p>Also, HB324 would make it possible, through Voter Dollars and a grant program, for a wider variety of qualified Granite Staters to run for office. Currently, the system favors those who already have wealthy connections, or are favored by out-of-state or wealthy interest groups who fund ads on their behalf. This situation prevents the leaders who may know their communities best from running for office, just because they may not be the best fundraisers.</p> <p>Thank you for your consideration for this needed reform.
