<p>HB24-1349 will add an 6.5% excise tax on the purchase of firearms, firearm accessories and ammunition. That's on top of an already-existing 11% excise tax, and additional local taxes. This law does nothing whatsoever to prevent gun violence. Instead, it directly punishes legal gun ownership, and it a direct violation of the Second Amendment.
