<p>Please, vote NO on HB2310 in Civil Justice Committee on March 20.</p> <p>Kidnapping is already illegal. There is no need for this bill. The sponsor has not established any particular risks related to such crimes and gender-affirming care.</p> <p>This bill further stigmatizes youth gender-affirming care, which Tennessee outlawed last year. The stigma should not exist. A Feb. 22, 2022 study in JAMA Network found: "In this prospective cohort of 104 TNB youths aged 13 to 20 years, receipt of gender-affirming care, including puberty blockers and gender-affirming hormones, was associated with 60% lower odds of moderate or severe depression and 73% lower odds of suicidality over a 12-month follow-up."</p> <p>Thank you for considering my views. </p>
