I am writing to request your support for H.R. 6700, the Adoption Counts Act. This bill will compel states to report important data on private, domestic adoptions to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. The federal government collects data on foster care adoptions and intercountry adoptions, but we haven't had any widespread collection of data on private adoptions since 1975.

Policymakers need this fundamental data in order to make better, informed decisions on private adoption policy. Please co-sponsor H.R. 6700!
