Dear [Your Elected Official],

<p>Please, vote NO on Senate Bill 1722 and House Bill 1319 on Tuesday on the Senate floor.</p> <p>These bills do not honor the American and Tennessee flags. These bills use our flags to restrict our freedoms under the Bill of Rights and they violate the very principles that our flags stand for.</p> <p>It is hard to determine what flags these bills protect and which ones they restrict because of the language in the amendments. Will these bills restrict various kinds of flags in common use? It is better not to adopt these bills and just let schools and local governments make sensible decisions.</p> <p>Both bills are ripe for First Amendment lawsuits that will tie our schools and public institutions up in litigation.</p> <p>Thank you for considering my views.</p>
