We should all be shocked by the terrible statistics for maternal health and motivated to act quickly to ensure that all mothers and birthing people receive the best possible care. Our maternal health crisis is disproportionately harming Black and Indigenous birthing people. We need solutions that center health equity.
I urge you to pass legislation to implement the recommendations of the 2021-2022 Commission on Racial Inequities in Maternal Health this legislative session. Our communities are counting on you.
