"Hello, Governor Hochul. My name is [YOUR NAME], and I strongly support A.10140 (Glick) / S.3185-A (Hoylman-Sigal), which would prohibit the taking of horseshoe crabs for commercial and biomedical purposes in NY State. I would like your support by signing the bill into law.

Horseshoe crabs are a keystone species in decline that support a number of vulnerable bird species, such as the Piping Plover, Red Knot, Whimbrel, Ruddy Turnstone, and Semipalmated Sandpiper. Unfortunately, the horseshoe crab population has been declining drastically, including in New York State. Horseshoe Crabs are under many threats, including loss of habitat, warming coastal and marine waters, and overharvesting.

Please help us pass this bill, Governor Hochul. We are counting on your support.”
