Animal shelters are overwhelmed with homeless rabbits. These innocent, suffering animals are being killed in large numbers due to lack of homes. Petco did the right thing by stopping the sale of rabbits in 2008. The plan to reverse this decision is a terrible one.</h3> <h3>It's estimated that 80% of rabbits sold in stores for Easter or Christmas are abandoned or dead within a year. Is this something you support? Healthy, well-cared-for rabbits can live up to 15 years, but when people buy them from pet stores, they are usually totally unprepared for the high vet bills, special dietary needs, and space requirements of rabbits. Rabbits need room to RUN! They do not belong in small cages!</h3> <h3>Mr. Anderson, you have the unique opportunity to make a difference. By saying NO to selling rabbits at Petco, you can break this cycle of suffering and instead promote adoption and proper care. This would be a powerful, compassionate step that shows true leadership and kindness to animals, and would inspire customers to shop at Petco.</h3> <h3>Do the right thing — make the decision that Petco will not sell rabbits ever again. Help create a kinder world for animals.</h3>
