Let Juries Determine Justice - Remove Caps Now

I live in your district, and if I or a neighbor is harmed by a drunk driver, a big truck, or multi-national corporation, I deserve my constitutional right to hold the wrongdoers accountable in a civil court. Yet, outdated laws in our state limit the justice a jury can award. Politically mandated caps on juries reduce justice to a predetermined number, ignoring the real harm suffered.

As a voter in your district, I urge you to please support removing these caps and restore the jury’s ability to deliver fair and full justice.

Summary

We are Marylanders exercising our right to demand that our elected officials stand up for us against corporate lobbyists and the insurance industry. We cannot continue to allow big corporations and other special interest groups to decide our worth when a tragedy occurs. We must use our collective voices to take back control. A jury of our fellow Marylanders should be empowered to decide what is fair and just compensation in civil court cases involving death or life-altering injury – not corporate lobbyists or the insurance industry.   Marylanders, urge your legislators today to end the politically motivated caps forced on citizen juries in civil court cases. We are worth it.
