In 2023, whale-watching contributed an estimated $3.5 billion kr ($26 million USD) to the economy, far outweighing any potential gains from whaling.<br /> <br />We respectfully ask you to consider:<br /> <br />1) Revoking the whaling license granted to Hvalur hf.<br />2) Implementing a permanent ban on all whaling in Icelandic waters.<br />3) Investing in and promoting whale-watching as a sustainable alternative.<br />4) Supporting global whale conservation efforts.<br /> <br />Your decision on this matter could position Iceland as a global leader in marine conservation.
