The Department of Energy has banned specialty light bulbs that I use to keep my pets healthy. The ban is putting the welfare of my animals at risk. Pet reptiles and birds, animals in zoos and conservation programs, and many others will suffer without access to these special lamps. Several million American homes have pet reptiles and birds.
This ban is animal cruelty! Animal care bulbs must be exempt from the ban. They are not general-use lamps as the Department has labeled them. Please do what is right for the animals and American pet owners by directing the Department of Energy to exempt animal care bulbs. Winter is here, and animals need these bulbs now!
