As a pediatrician serving children and families in Maine, the potential appoinment of Mr. Kennedy concerns me greatly and I urge you to oppose this nomination. 
As you know, the Secretary of HHS plays a crucial role in shaping our healthcare system, addressing public health challenges, and ensuring that vital health programs and policies are implemented effectively. The individual who holds this position must be committed to science, public health, and the safety of all Americans.
However, Mr. Kennedy's decades-long record of promoting misinformation and conspiracy theories related to health and medicine demonstrates that he is ill-equipped to effectively lead this department in a manner that prioritizes evidence-based policies that protect our infants, children, and adolescents. 
As a constituent and pediatrician dedicated the health of Maine children and families, I implore you to carefully consider the implications of Mr. Kennedy’s appointment. We need a HHS Secretary who will champion evidence-based policies that support the health and future of children in Maine and across the country.
