For decades, the United States has championed peace through strength. I am heartened to see the renewed conversations and the return of aid to Ukraine. The U.S. has played an important role in air defence and keeping civilians safe. We saw in live-time the devastating impact of the aid pause.

We must stand by our values that demand we protect innocent civilians who have become targets, seek justice for the thousands of Ukrainian children who have been abducted from their families, and restore freedom for Christians who have been persecuted by the Russian regime.

I ask that you support continued aid for Ukraine during this time of negotiations and to stand strong in the face of the aggressor, Russia. 

Not only does this uphold our value of freedom in this nation, but supporting Ukraine is also a smart defense investment. With less than 5% of the U.S. defense budget, Ukraine has crippled Russia’s military without our direct involvement and we have kept American troops out of harm's way. 

If Ukraine falls, U.S. costs and risks will escalate, as vast Ukrainian resources will fall into the hands of Russian and Chinese operatives.

Turning a blind eye to Russia’s war crimes against Christians, children, faith leaders, and civilians does not represent your constituents' foundational values of faith, freedom, and justice.

I ask for you to urge the administration to consider these values within the negotiations and to finalize an agreement that results in a just peace for Ukraine.

Now, it is clear that the U.S. and Ukraine are committed to seek a just and lasting peace. The ball to end the war, as always, is in Russia's court.

The strong leadership of the U.S. has ensured decades of peace and prosperity for our country and allies. We should continue working closely with our partners, and carry on  our strength, authority, and moral integrity by not compromising American values in the face of Russian aggression. 

I ask you to reach across the aisle and work to further security guarantees for Ukraine–  and to show the strength we have as the leader of the free world by upholding the American values of freedom and democracy.
