Dear [Your Elected Official],

<p>I ask you to vote NO on HB1262 in the Education Administration Subcommittee on Tuesday.</p> <p>This bill opens the door to any teacher, school employee, or student to demean any other teacher, school employee, or student.  It seems to say there are no consequences if someone does not treat another person with basic respect in our schools.  </p> <p>Using a person's pronouns is easy, takes nothing away from anyone, and it makes the school environment safer for all teachers, school employees, and students.</p> <p>This bill offers a false sense of security to those who do not want to use other people's pronouns. While it shields them from lawsuits in state courts, it cannot do so in federal courts.  Encouraging teachers, school employees, and students to ignore  someone's pronouns is an invitation to expensive litigation.</p> <p>Thank you for considering my views.</p>
