The State Legislature must act swiftly to ensure that Washington’s students are shielded from harmful budget cuts. This includes securing new revenue sources that explicitly protect the social safety net for children as these cuts will impact our most vulnerable students. Education is the foundation of our state’s prosperity, and we must fully fund it—without compromise.
As Attorney General, you stood up to the Trump Administration time and again. I urge you to take legal action to stop this attack on public education, just as you have fought against other harmful federal policies in the past. Washington must lead the fight to defend our schools, our teachers, and our students.
Our children’s future is on the line. Please use your leadership to ensure Washington remains a national leader in education, regardless of what happens in Washington, D.C.
