 Time: 3:00 PM EST
Location: Rayburn House Office Building, Room #2060

This briefing will bring together Members of Congress, policymakers, national security officials, and experts on South Asia and Indo-Pacific affairs to discuss the urgent challenges facing Bangladesh, including:

  • The rise of radical Islamist groups such as Jamaat-e-Islami and their impact on governance, democratic institutions, and civil liberties.
  • The growing influence of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and Pakistan Army in backing radical Islamist elements.
  • Ongoing human rights abuses against Hindus, Buddhists, Christians, and Indigenous communities in Bangladesh, including attacks on places of worship, forced conversions, and religious persecution.
  • The broader implications of rising extremism in South Asia on U.S. foreign policy and national security.

As a respected leader in Congress, your voice is essential in addressing these challenges and reinforcing U.S. support for democracy, human rights, and regional stability.
