Revoking the BCPS BOE Resolution 2025-02 Censuring BCPS BOE Maggie Domanowski
Dear [Your Elected Official],

A call for Accountability and Respect: Revoking the Resolution 2025-02 and Issuing an Apology to BCPS BOE Member Maggie Domanowski

Dear Members of the BCPS Board of Education,

The Baltimore County Parent and Student Coalition, Inc. is writing to express our disagreement with Resolution 2025-02, which was voted on during the Board meeting held on March 11, 2025.  As an organization dedicated to advocating for the interests of students and parents within Baltimore County, we believe this resolution does not align with the best interests of Team BCPS which is what you say that we all are members of.

We respectfully urge the BCPS Board to reconsider this resolution and engage in further dialogue with stakeholders to ensure that decisions made are truly reflective of the needs and concerns of the families and students you serve.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sign The Petition: As a concerned constituent, I am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding the recent decision to censure a fellow board member for the “tone” of her questions about the proposed $2.98 billion operating budget. This action not only undermines open dialogue but also raises serious concerns about the Board’s commitment to transparency and accountability. I firmly believe that school boards, by nature, should be nonpartisan. Decisions should not be influenced by political motivations but by the goal of improving the educational experience for all students.
The recent censure, however, has given the appearance of a political agenda that seeks to silence legitimate concerns and criticism.  As a member of the public, I expect board members to ask tough, direct questions when it comes to matters as important as our children’s education and the allocation of public funds.  The decision to censure a board member for raising valid concerns about such a significant budget is troubling.  It seems to punish someone for fulfilling their duty to critically evaluate decisions that affect our community.
I am respectfully calling for the immediate revocation of this resolution 2025-02 and for a public apology to be issued to the board member, Maggie Domanowski, who was unfairly censured.  Silencing individuals for their tone rather than addressing the substance of their concerns sends a dangerous message: that difficult questions and scrutiny are not welcome. This is not the kind of leadership we need, especially when it involves the future of our children and the proper stewardship of taxpayer funds.
I also want to acknowledge the board members who voted against this censure. Their actions demonstrate a commitment to maintaining a respectful and transparent process, and I hope the rest of the board will follow their lead in ensuring that everyone’s voice is heard without fear of reprisal.
Please take the necessary steps to reverse this decision and ensure that this type of action does not occur again. It is vital that the Board of Education fosters an environment where open, honest discussion is not only allowed but encouraged, for the benefit of the Team BCPS community and more importantly, to the students you have taken an oath to serve.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to seeing how the board moves forward in upholding its responsibility to the public.
Sincerely,
Sincerely,
[Your Name]
