Hundreds of farmers and agricultural workers in Florida have sued Bayer/Monsanto and ChemChina after developing cancer and Parkinson’s from exposure to their chemicals. These cases represent a tiny fraction of the many hundreds of thousands of lawsuits they’ve faced worldwide.
No state has given these foreign chemical corporations liability protections for the harm they cause. Why should Florida be the first? House Bill 129 and Senate Bill 922 would strip farmers of their ability to hold foreign corporations accountable for knowingly misleading them.
House Bill 129 and Senate Bill 922 are a gift to ChemChina, a company flagged by the Pentagon as a “Chinese Military Company” and run by the Chinese Communist Party. Their banned-in-China pesticide paraquat is clearly linked to Parkinson’s, yet the label doesn’t disclose these risks in the U.S.—and House Bill 129 / Senate Bill 922 block Florida farmers from holding ChemChina accountable.
Please vote against House Bill 129 and Senate Bill 922 and stand with Florida farmers.
