Over 19,546 Ukrainian children, ranging in age from four months to 17 years, have been forcefully, systematically, and illegally transferred from Ukraine to Russia. There they have been subjected to political re-education, military training, and forced assimilation into Russian society. Russia's program of mass child abduction is one of the gravest horrors of this war.

I respectfully urge you to take decisive action, by co-sponsoring S.Res.236, to ensure that these children are safely returned home before any peace deal is finalized. Thank you.

<p>This bipartisan resolution is an important step in fulfilling President Donald Trump’s March 19 promise to ensure Ukrainian children abducted by Russia are returned to their families. By kidnapping over 19,546 children from Ukraine, Russia is simultaneously erasing these children’s identities as Ukrainians while holding them hostage. The United States must say clearly that children are not bargaining chips.</p>
