Support the Pharmacists Fight Back Act (H.R. 6609 & H.R. 6610)
This isnโt politics. This is survival. One million voices. One national movement. One mission: Put patients before profits.
I am writing to urge your support for H.R. 6609 and H.R. 6610, two important bills that bring long-overdue accountability and transparency to pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs).
Across the country, patients, families, employers, and taxpayers are facing rising prescription drug costs and increasing barriers to accessing medically necessary medications. PBM practices—often hidden from public view—can delay care, restrict access through formularies and prior authorization, and drive up costs at the pharmacy counter.
These bills are supported by a growing coalition of patient advocates and pharmacy professionals and are rooted in real-world harm. One such case is Cole Schmidtknecht, a 22-year-old who died after being unable to obtain a prescribed asthma medication due to PBM-related barriers. His death was preventable and highlights the urgent need for reform that puts patients before profit.
H.R. 6609 applies PBM accountability within Medicare and Medicaid, while H.R. 6610 addresses PBM cost practices in the Federal Employee Health Benefits Program. Together, these bills represent meaningful steps toward improving transparency, lowering costs, and protecting patient access to care.
I respectfully ask that you support and co-sponsor H.R. 6609 and H.R. 6610, and work to advance them through the House without delay.
