Oppose Bill H.R. 3467 That Would Upend Hospice Care as We Know It.

H.R. 3467 seeks to solve a problem that doesn't exist, upending hospice as we know it. At its core, hospice is a deeply personal choice for those with serious illnesses, and half of hospice patients die within 14 days—meaning there's no time for insurance delays.
We urge you to follow the evidence, historical Congressional intent, and the desire of beneficiaries and those who care for them to keep Medicare Advantage out of the Medicare Hospice Benefit. 
The Medicare Hospice Benefit, as currently structured, delivers high-quality, cost-effective care with high satisfaction among patients and families. It is the gold standard for those with terminal illnesses who elect to pursue palliative as opposed to curative care. The proposed carve-in will subject dying patients to new administrative hurdles, reduced choice, and the risk of diminished care. 
The bottom line is that patients and well-meaning providers will suffer the consequences of this short-sighted proposal. Please don't fix what isn't broken. Oppose H.R. 3467 and keep Medicare Advantage out of hospice care.
