Summary

H.R. 3467 seeks to solve a problem that doesn't exist—upending hospice as we know it.

The Medicare Hospice Benefit, as currently structured, delivers high-quality, cost-effective care with high satisfaction among patients and families.

Starting in 2028, H.R. 3467 will force Medicare Advantage insurers to control hospice care.

We already know H.R. 3467 will fail.

CMS tested a hospice "carve-in" under VBID (2021-2024). This resulted in administrative burdens, payment delays, network difficulties, and no improved outcomes.

When half of hospice patients unfortunately die within 14 days, there is no time for insurance bureaucracy and delays.

The trial failed so badly, it was ended 7 years early.

Urge Congress to oppose H.R. 3467 and maintain hospice care as a carved-out benefit under Traditional Fee-For-Service (FFS) Medicare, ensuring that patients in their final days receive care that is timely, compassionate, and free from unnecessary administrative barriers.
