Vote NO on HB563

Please, vote NO on HB563 when it comes up in the Business Subcommittee on Tuesday. This bill takes tools away from government in its contract, grant-making, and procurement processes. If a company or nonprofit has a discriminatory policy, state and local government would not be able to reward a company with good policies. That would result in taxpayer funded discrimination and it is bad public policy.

If this bill became law, a state or local government would not be able to refuse to contract with companies or nonprofits that have discriminatory policies. The bill would prevent government from giving preference to companies that have inclusive policies.
