As someone who depends on our National Forests for biking, hiking, and connecting with the outdoors, I am deeply concerned about USDA’s reorganization plan and its impact on the Forest Service.
Since February, USDA has lost more than 16,000 employees, including critical Forest Service staff who manage trails, prevent wildfires, and protect public lands. Our forests and communities cannot afford further cuts or office closures.
I urge USDA to:

<li>Preserve and strengthen local offices that connect communities to trails, forests, and waters.</li>
<li>Share a clear staffing impact analysis for any proposed changes.</li>

<li>Healthy forests and resilient communities depend on a well-staffed and locally rooted Forest Service. Please ensure this reorganization strengthens, not weakens, those capacities.</li>
