Please help Michigan patients by protecting our access to copay assistance that counts.
Patients living with diseases and conditions like cancer, arthritis, hemophilia, and many others often rely on financial support from nonprofit organizations and prescription manufacturers to help us pay for the medicines we need.
Unfortunately, new insurance company policies called “copay accumulator adjustment programs” are taking our help away.
They’re refusing to count copay assistance dollars towards a patient’s deductible and out-of-pocket maximum for the year.
In other words, if a patient uses copay assistance to pay for a $5,000 monthly treatment, the health insurance plan forces the patient to pay the $5,000 a second time out of their own pocket.
We shouldn’t be forced to come up with payments twice!
We need your help.
