A huge thank you to everyone who voted in Tuesday's city elections! Local democracy depends on you showing up, and your engagement makes a real difference. Unfortunately, this week also showed how fragile access to the ballot still is: the New Hampshire Campaign for Voting Rights tracked at least 100 voters who were turned away from the polls due to lack of documentary proof of citizenship or other ID now required by HB 1569. This is completely unjust, and we must sound the alarm. 🚨

As we reflect on the shocking number of voters turned away on Tuesday, it's important to remember that these were only the observed cases, in a local election with lower turnout. Just imagine how many more voters could be disenfranchised in a larger election like the upcoming 2026 midterms.

Both the House and Senate Election Law committees will be voting on a new slate of bills in January, and it's critical that legislators understand the real impact that these policies have on Granite Staters. NH is already one of the most difficult state's in the nation to cast a vote in—they don't need to make it even more so.
