Two Memphis Superfund sites, Hollywood Dump and Carrier Air Conditioning, were due for their required Five-Year Reviews in 2025. These reviews are essential for evaluating cleanup progress, incorporating community input, and identifying any need for further action. To date, we have not seen the review process for either site formally begin.
Delays in these reviews place surrounding communities at continued and unnecessary risk of exposure to harmful pollutants. This is not just a procedural issue—it is a public health issue.
I respectfully but urgently request confirmation of when the Five-Year Reviews for Hollywood Dump and Carrier Air Conditioning will begin, and how the public will be notified and engaged in the process.
Clean water and healthy communities depend on accountability. We appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to your prompt response.
Sincerely,
