I'm adding my name to this petition to call for an effort to fund upgrades to Paducah's current water filtration facilities to make sure that forever chemicals -- like PFAS -- are filtered out of our water supply.

I realize that the City of Paducah is currently doing the best with what we have. Unfortunately though, the current equipment does not filter out forever chemicals.

I am urging our local officials to come together to figure out how we can apply for and acquire the funding needed to implement modern municipal filtration systems that will remove forever chemicals from our tap water.

Summary

While Paducah Water and our treatment plant is doing a great job, the reality is also that our current facilities are unable to remove toxic forever chemicals out of our drinking water.   To learn more about the dangers of forever chemicals, you can learn more at ourpaducah.org  The truth is that there is no "safe amount" of these kinds of chemicals when you're talking about a lifetime of consumption.  Period. The good news is that the state of Kentucky helps to fund projects to upgrade water treatment plants to help improve water quality.   Please sign this petition to help us show that area residents are interested and motivated to see our water remove these toxic chemicals.
