House Republicans have introduced the so-called Make Elections Great Again (MEGA) Act, another attempt to restrict voting based on false claims of widespread election fraud. Like the SAVE Act, this bill would require proof of citizenship to register and photo ID to vote—requirements that millions of eligible Americans don’t have, especially young people, people with disabilities, and Black and Hispanic voters.

The MEGA Act would also override states’ authority to run their own elections by banning ranked-choice voting in federal races, blocking universal vote-by-mail, and throwing out valid mail ballots received after Election Day. Election fraud is extremely rare, but this bill would create new barriers, fuel distrust, and make it harder for eligible voters to participate.

Email your Congressional Representative and urge them to oppose the MEGA Act and defend voting rights.
