Urge Legislators to Protect Our Daughters!

As one of your constituents, I am writing to urge you to Protect Our Daughters in North Carolina. Right now, girls in our state as young as middle school are being asked to forfeit their safety, privacy, and dignity in private spaces in K-12 public schools, junior colleges, and Universities in North Carolina. When these girls and their families raise concerns to schools, school boards, junior colleges and universities, they are called bigots, labeled as "hateful," and brought up on charges. This is wrong, and I am asking you to take a stand against it.

The Protect Our Daughters Act is a statewide solution to the confusion and unsafe conditions caused by gender ideology. It prevents biological males from entering female private spaces in public schools, prisons, and rape crisis centers. Women and girls deserve protection. North Carolina law must respect reality and protect the safety, privacy, and dignity of women and girls. Right now, the US Department of Education is investigating two North Carolina school districts and Western Carolina University for alleged Title IX violations involving males entering female-only private spaces. Please support the Protect Our Daughters Act.

Summary

Gender ideology – the idea that a person can be “born in the wrong body” and can self-declare their own gender apart from biological reality– has harmed children across our state and nation. Children’s bodies have been mutilated. Women and girls have lost the opportunity for fair competition in sports. And women and girls have been forced to share their private spaces – like bathrooms and locker rooms – with males.   In North Carolina, girls as young as middle school are being asked to forfeit their safety, privacy, and dignity in private spaces at public schools. Many are doing so in silence, because they face accusations that they are bigoted, backwards, and hateful if they speak out. This is wrong, and it’s time for adults and people in leadership take a stand.   North Carolina law must respect reality and protect the safety, privacy, and dignity of women and girls. Twenty-one states and Puerto Rico currently protect girls from biological males in their bathrooms and locker rooms in K-12 schools. Twelve of those states provide additional protection in other government-owned buildings. But in North Carolina, our daughters have no protection.
