As a constituent and someone who cares deeply about Oklahoma’s wildlife, I am writing to respectfully ask you to vote NO on House Bill 3270 (HB 3270).
HB 3270 would remove the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC) from a central role in a program that could directly impact our state’s wild deer herd. ODWC is the agency charged with managing Oklahoma’s wildlife and employs the trained biologists and wildlife professionals best equipped to guide decisions affecting this public resource.
Wildlife management decisions should be based on sound science and led by the experts entrusted with protecting our state’s fish and wildlife. Removing those experts from the process creates unnecessary risk for Oklahoma’s deer herd and undermines responsible, science-based management.
Oklahoma’s wildlife belongs to all of us. I respectfully urge you to oppose HB 3270 and support keeping wildlife management decisions in the hands of qualified professionals.
Thank you for your time and service to our state.
