I am writing to urge you to support Oklahoma’s child care industry during this legislative session.
Child care is not a government handout. Child care businesses are contracted providers delivering high-quality care so that Oklahoma parents can work and support other industries across the state.
Key points to consider:

<li>Child care businesses are not subsidized; they operate as contracted providers serving working families.</li>
<li>Funding must cover the true cost of care. The proposed $56 million is the bare minimum needed to stabilize the system.</li>
<li>Additional cuts would be devastating. Many programs cannot remain open under current and further reductions.</li>
<li>Regulatory reform is urgently needed so programs can operate sustainably while maintaining high standards.</li>
</ul>
For every child in care, approximately 30 other jobs become possible across the workforce. The child care industry is a major employer and tax-paying sector supporting Oklahoma’s economy. Child care is essential infrastructure for Oklahoma’s workforce and economy. Please support funding stability and meaningful regulatory reform for our industry.
