Congress is currently considering a bill that goes around the normal budget process to give ICE and CBP (and the ballroom) an additional $72 billion. These funds would come on top of an unprecedented $170 billion allocated just last year to dramatically expand ICE and CBP operations, which has funded mass detentions and shocking violence against people, substantially destabilized communities, and harmed working moms, dads, and neighbors.

This unnecessary and rushed budget legislation comes after the success of stopping additional dangerous dollars for a ballooning ICE force in the normal appropriations process. Communities across the country clearly communicated to Congress that the public does not want to see further funds for ICE violence and its unaccountable, unrestrained federal agents.

Call or email your members of Congress TODAY to let them know you strongly oppose additional billions of our tax dollars on top of last year’s unprecedented billions for out-of-control ICE agents and a national plan for mass detention that is destabilizing communities and harming working moms, dads, and neighbors.

This bypasses the normal budget process that goes against public opposition to further funds for ICE violence and a ballooning force of unrestrained federal agents.

Instead of wastefully funding ICE violence (and the ballroom), I strongly urge you to find positive and productive solutions to meaningfully update our immigration laws that would create stability for Nebraska families, workforce, and communities.

Nebraskans support stability for immigrant community members and whole communities, not unprecedented billions for out-of-control ICE agents and mass detentions that harm working moms, dads, and neighbors.
