Tell U.S. Ambassador to China: End the Cruel Yulin Dog and Cat Meat Trade!

Email Subject:
Dear David Perdue, the U.S. Ambassador to China,
We call on U.S. Ambassador to China David Perdue to use his position to press Chinese authorities to permanently end the dog and cat meat trade in and around Yulin.
Thousands of dogs and cats are expected to be slaughtered during Yulin's annual dog and cat meat event. Many are transported long distances in crowded cages without adequate food or water. Investigators have documented companion dogs, including some still wearing collars, among animals destined for slaughter.
Most Yulin residents do not regularly eat dog or cat meat, and most say a ban would not affect their lives.
We urge Ambassador David Perdue to call on Chinese officials to shut down the dog and cat meat trade in and around Yulin and stop the transport of dogs and cats into the city for slaughter.
