Canada cannot reach its climate, affordability, or energy security goals without investing in the buildings we already have. Millions of today’s homes and buildings will still be standing in 2050, and many require upgrades to reduce energy waste, lower utility bills, improve comfort, and cut emissions.

As Mark Carney announced that the responsibility for home retrofits has been transferred to Environment and Climate Change Canada, there is an important opportunity to ensure retrofits remain a federal priority. As Minister responsible for this file, Minister Dabrusin needs to hear from Canadians who understand the value of reducing energy demand and making existing buildings net-zero ready.

Share why federal leadership on retrofits matters and encourage the government to continue investing in programs that help Canadians improve their homes and buildings.

A few minutes can help reinforce the broad support for policies that lower energy bills, strengthen energy security, create skilled jobs, and reduce emissions.
