Congress is moving to reauthorize the Legacy Restoration Fund — and your voice matters now.

The Legacy Restoration Fund expired in September 2025, leaving a $41 billion maintenance backlog across national parks, national forests, and other public lands. Trails, roads, campgrounds, and visitor facilities that outdoor enthusiasts depend on are at risk.

The good news: there are now bipartisan bills in both chambers. The America the Beautiful Act (S. 1547), led by Senators Steve Daines (R-MT) and Angus King (I-ME), passed the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee by unanimous vote and is heading to the full Senate. In the House, the Great American Outdoors Act 250 (H.R. 9250), introduced by Chairman Bruce Westerman and Ranking Member Jared Huffman, is gaining momentum. Both bills would invest $9.5 billion over five years to restore our public lands.

Send a message to your members of Congress now — urge them to support this critical reauthorization before July 4th.
