<h3>More than half of the octopuses confined at Mexico's only operating octopus farm have died before slaughter.</h3> <h3>Researchers have reported mortality rates exceeding 50%, with nearly one-third of those deaths linked to octopuses killing and eating other octopuses trapped in the same tanks.</h3> <h3>Animals have suffered severe injuries, lost limbs, and died in conditions created by intensive confinement.</h3> <h3>As the senator who introduced this legislation and as president of the Senate Committee on Environment, Natural Resources, and Climate Change, you are in a position to stop this cruelty.</h3> <h3>We urge you to advance and secure passage of the nationwide ban on octopus farming to protect animals from further mutilation and death.</h3>
