Congress is working up a new Farm Bill, but it's falling far short of what we need.

The recently released Senate draft replicates many of the failures in the House version and falls far short of the Farm Bill our farms and communities need to thrive.

Instead of investing in food security, climate resilience and local food systems, the Senate bill

fails to restore cuts to SNAP

fails to provide meaningful support to organic farmers and farming

fails to make deeply needed improvements to the farm safety net for smaller scale, organic and diversified farmers,

fails to invest in and expand land and credit access for new, beginning and historically underserved farmers or reign in corporate ownership of farmland.

fails to address massive staffing losses at local USDA offices in VT and around the country.

and undermines important conservation programs, including programs meant to support evidence-based practices like cover cropping and rotational grazing.

Use this form to write our Senators: We need a Farm Bill that invests in food, land, and climate justice for all. This isn't it. Please Vote NO.
