For years, the Biden Administration dramatically expanded the use of America’s immigration system.

Now, Congress is demanding answers about whether certain immigration benefits were properly approved.

H.R. 6978, the Preserving Integrity in Immigration Benefits Act, would require U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to conduct a comprehensive review of certain immigration benefit requests approved during the Biden years and determine whether the law and proper standards were followed.

Just as importantly, the bill would require USCIS to make the findings public and brief the House and Senate Judiciary Committees.

Congress has already moved the bill through committee and placed it on the House calendar.

Now the House needs to finish the job.

If these immigration benefits were properly approved, the review will show it.

If they weren’t, the American people deserve to know.

The legislation sets a September 15, 2026 deadline for USCIS to brief Congress and publicly release the results of its review. That deadline would take effect if H.R. 6978 becomes law, making congressional action increasingly important as September approaches.
