I am writing to urge you to vote yes on the privileged resolution introduced by Senators Van Hollen, Kaine, and Sanders under Section 502B(c) of the Foreign Assistance Act. The resolution would require the Department of State to report to Congress on Israel's human rights practices in the West Bank, including the killings of American citizens.
This resolution would require the State Department to report on the status of any US or Israeli investigations into these killings, how Americans held in Israeli prisons are being treated, and how Palestinian children are treated in Israeli military detention.
Americans should be able to trust that when one of us is killed abroad, our government will want to know why. I respectfully urge you to vote yes when this resolution comes to the floor. These families deserve to know what happened. So do the American people.
