CAMPAIGN DESCRIPTION

REACH is a bipartisan, bicameral bill that creates transparency and straightforward reporting processes for hazing incidents on college and university campuses. REACH is evidence-informed and will help strengthen campus safety and promote educational environments where students can participate in clubs, organizations, and teams without the mental, emotional, and physical abuse of hazing. Every year that goes by, more students lives are lost and deeply damaged by senseless acts of hazing. This bill will help keep students healthy, safe, and thriving at school. REACH creates a standardized definition for hazing, adds hazing incidents as crime statistics to campus Annual Security Reports, and requires institutions hold educational programs to help prevent and build awareness on hazing and how to effectively intervene.
