Please, vote NO on HJR529 when it comes before the Senate Judiciary Committee. The resolution is petty. Marriage equality is the law of the land.
The House sponsor has described the resolution as a way of encouraging Family Action Council's lawsuit against the Williamson County Clerk for enforcing the Supreme Court's ruling.
Why would the Legislature celebrate a lawsuit against a local government for doing its job? If the Legislature likes the lawsuit against the clerk so much, the Legislature ought to offer to pay the court costs.
It is a waste of time and beneath the Senate.
