Please, vote NO on SB228 when it reaches the Senate floor on March 1.
The sponsor has not demonstrated the need for this bill. There are no stories or statistics about schools in Tennessee that indicate there is a problem. So this bill will not result in protecting women's athletics because transgender students are not a threat.
This bill stigmatizes transgender youth and the law should never be used for such a purpose.
We know that a similar law has been enjoined in Idaho. This bill will result in legal costs and put a target on Tennessee for boycotts at a time when our tourism industry needs to recover.
Please, vote NO and put an end to these attack bills. Thank you for considering my views.
