Vote NO on HB1233

Dear [title] [last name],

Please, vote NO on HB1233 on March 9 in the House K-12 subcommittee. This bill forces school districts to make accommodations for people who do not want to share space with transgender people.

The Legislature has not taken action to protect and support transgender people. In fact, harmful legislation has advanced this year. This bill improperly dignifies the idea that it is acceptable not to share space with transgender students, which further stigmatizes them.

As of March 4, no fiscal note had been prepared for the bill, but the Legislature should carefully consider the cost of these accommodations as well as the human costs.

Thank you for considering my views.
