Please, vote NO on SB1229 and SB1367 in the Education Committee on March 24. 

The effect of SB1229 bill is to say that there is something wrong with students based on their sexual orientation or gender identity. That is always a destructive message, especially when youth face so many challenges such as bullying and suicide.  Censoring instructional content also runs counter to the First Amendment and the purpose of education.

SB1367 is an anti-transgender student bathroom bill. The accommodations offered in this bill are unequal and stigmatizing. Bathroom bills fail in the courts and will fail Tennessee’s economy by causing boycotts.
