I am appalled that Laurentian University is planning to slaughter mice and rats without any attempt whatsoever at placing these sentient animals in an adoptive home.
This complete disregard for life is unacceptable. There are sanctuaries and humane societies standing by ready to give these animals a home.
It’s not enough to issue policy statements saying that you treat your animals well when you demonstrate a rampant disregard for their lives by killing them when you deem them no longer needed.
I urge you to immediately halt these senseless killings and give these rats and mice a chance to live.
