Vote NO on SB2777 on April 19 in the Finance Committee

Please, vote NO on SB2777 in Senate Finance on April 19.

Since this bill passed in the Senate Education Committee, there are new reasons to take the fiscal note seriously and reject the bill. On March 31, 2022, the U.S. Department of Justice sent a letter to every state attorney general saying that discrimination against transgender youth is sex discrimination and that it risks funding for states participating in federal programs.

Even if you don't agree with me that the bill is discriminatory, it's important to understand that it likely will be viewed as such by the federal government. We should not risk education funding to allow a few school personnel to reject a student's pronouns.

Thank you for considering my views.
